KNIGHT, Donald T. -- KNIGHT, Donald T., 85, of Maineville, died Friday, September 25, 2009, at his home.

Born in Cincinnati on February 24, 1924 to John Paul & Bertha M. (nee FELDHAUS) KNIGHT, he graduated from Norwood High School and went on to study Gemology. Mr. KNIGHT served in the U.S. Army 30th Division during WWII and received the Purple Heart & Silver Star for his valiant service. He retired in 1987 after 42 years as a diamond importer for JP Knight Co. and was a member of the American Gemology Society. He was also a former member of the Lebanon Lions Club, an avid woodworker and enjoyed fishing & hunting.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Jean, son, Donald Thomas "Tom" KNIGHT Jr. of Fairfield, Iowa, daughter, Susan Jean BROWN of Fairfield, Iowa, step-son, Peter CARRUTHERS (Janet) of Ithaca, NY, step-daughters, Debra CARRUTHERS of Albuquerque, NM and Kathryn DANIELS (Michael) of Chesapeake, VA, sister, Ruth DUNKER of Cincinnati, 12 grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. He was preceded by his parents, 1st wife & mother of his children, Marion Jean KNIGHT, and one brother, E. Paul KNIGHT.

A memorial reception will be held at the family's convenience. Donations are requested to the American Heart Association or charity of choice. Arrangements by Oswald-Hoskins Funeral Home, Lebanon, OH with online condolences available by visiting www.hoskinsfh.com .
