LAKE, Mildred B. -- Mildred B. LAKE, 94, of Fairfield, died Monday, July 20, 2009, at home.

According to her wishes, no service is planned, and her body will be cremated. Private burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.

Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is handling arrangements.

Mrs. LAKE was born May 16, 1915, in Van Buren County, the daughter of Jesse Michael and Della Mae GODOWN THOMAS. She married Neville Elmo LAKE Jan. 29, 1937, in Davenport.

Mrs. LAKE was a homemaker and worked on the family farm alongside her husband.

She enjoyed working in the garden, cooking and spending time with family.

Survivors include two children, Dorothy LAKE of Fairfield and Dean LAKE of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eight siblings.
