Al's love was his wife and family. Al was a family man and father in every sense of the word. Not only did Al set an example of hard work and values for his son Leland, he also treated his step-children as if they were his own and was always there to lend a hand or assistance. Al was always helping family and friends with a caring smile. Everyone comments about Al's unwavering smile. Al loved to work, in fact it was also his hobby. This was demonstrated by the work he put into his rental properties, and especially in building and maintaining the family cabin on the river.
