EAKINS, Shirley M. -- Shirley M. EAKINS of Agency died at 8 a.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at home.

A funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Danny Cary officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Visitation began at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 5-7 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Hospice, 312 E. Alta Vista, Ottumwa 52501; or Crisis Center and Women's Shelter of Ottumwa.

Mrs. EAKINS was born in Ottumwa, the daughter of Raleigh and Marguriete COLLINS ANNIS.

Mrs. EAKINS was a retiree of John Deere Ottumwa Works.

Survivors include two sons, Bob EAKINS of Bourbonnais, Ill., and Ed EAKINS of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Vicki HAWKE of Warrenton, Mo., Jo Ellen GRANDPRE of Manteno, Ill., and Shannon EAKINS DOVICO of Batavia; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Ed, Charles "Pete" and Jeff ANNIS, all of Ottumwa, Michael ANNIS of Davenport, Hiram "Sonny" ANNIS of Lorimor, Raleigh "Butch" ANNIS Jr. of Arizona and Floyd "Butch" ANNIS of Fairfield; and five sisters, Joyce LARGE, Marida SICKELS, Delores ANNIS and Bonnie PENROD, all of Ottumwa, and Linda "Cis" PENNISTON of South Dakota.

She was preceded in death by one great-granddaughter.
