PACKWOOD MAYOR.... Marion Albert WHITTEN, 60, died Sun. night at Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. Hoskins Funeral Home, Fairfield. Resident of Packwood 22 years. Born Nov. 11, 1895, at Farmersville, Mo., son of Wm. A. and Suzannah DeWITT WHITTEN; married Mabel NORDEEN Sept. 3, 1919. WWI veteran. Packwood Methodist Church. Survived by wife and children: Everett WHITTEN, Packwood; Robert WHITTEN, Hedrick; Mrs. Dorothy HAHN, Townsend, Mont.; Gilbert WHITTEN, Fairfield; and Alberta and Jack WHITTEN at home; his father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. WHITTEN, Bussey; eight grandchildren, brothers and sisters: Clyde WHITTEN, Tracy; Mrs. Pearl WILLIAMS, White Sulphur Springs, Mont.; Wm. WHITTEN, Grove City, Pa.; Arleigh WHITTEN, Omaha, Neb., and Donald DeWITT, Kansas City. One son, Charles, died in service during World War II.
