GLASS, John E. 'Jack' -- Memorial services will be held Saturday, Dec. 13, at 11 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Fairfield, for John E. GLASS, who passed away Dec. 10. Jack, as he preferred to be called, was born November 2, 1927, in Aurora, Ill. to Walter and Marion GLASS.

Jack was a WWII, Navy veteran, and following his retirement from Nationwide Insurance, in Aurora, he and his wife, Georgetta, moved to Fairfield, where they owned and operated the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Store.

A dedicated and active member of the community, he enjoyed membership in the Howard Johnsons coffee club, The Lions Club, The Methodist Health and Welfare organization, The V.F.W., and was instrumental in helping to form the Fairfield chapter of Habitat for Humanity. He was also an avid Token collector, and published author of a book on Iowa tokens.

Surviving to mourn his loss, is the love of his life, Georgetta (SCHWEBKE) Daughters, Debra and Karen and Grandchildren, Heather (Jason) SHELDON, Matilda (Sara) VICKERS, and Andrew RUNYON, also his surviving siblings, brothers, Richard (Jeanne), and Stephen GLASS, and sisters, Mary Alice (Robert) DARR, Marta (Donald) HEIDENBERG, Barbara DRAY, and Virginia (James) GENGLER, and an abundance of loving nieces and nephews.

Awaiting Jack's arrival in the hereafter are his parents, Walter and Marion, and brothers, Bill, Tom, and Bob.
