McCREERY RITES AT PEKIN. George R. McCREERY, 83, died Fri. at St. Joseph Hospital, Ottumwa. Retired farmer. Lived all his life in Pekin and Hedrick communities. Burial in Packwood Cemetery. Born Jan. 27, 1879, in Keokuk County, son of Johnnie and Anna SPIERS McCREERY. Married in 1904 to Nettie BLAND who died in 1959. Also preceded in death by one brother. Survivors include four sons: Waldo, Jacksonville, Ill.; Wayne, San Francisco, Calif.; Bernard, Newport, R.I.; and Virgil of Hedrick; one daughter, Verna McCREERY, Arlington, Va.; three brothers, Fred of Hedrick; Roy of Pekin; Harry of Sigourney; one sister, Mrs. Lillie DUKE, Sigourney; 3 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
