Obit. Joseph Orrin CAVINESS born near Beckwith, Iowa, Dec. 27, 1875, son of Richard E. CAVINESS; died May 28, 1916, aged 40-5-1. Married Dollie WEIDNER in 1899; she died June 15, 1909, and Dec. 6, 1910, he married Addie M. BARRON who sith a little son Roy survives... Packwood Cemetery.

Joseph Orrin CAVINESS, born near Beckwith Dec. 17, 1875, (sic) died very suddenly Sunday morning, May 28, 1916, of apoplexy at his home in Packwood, aged 40-5-1.

Lived near Beckwith until he was 11, then moved with his father to Pleasant Plain, Iowa. Married Dollie WEIDNER in the summer of 1899 and moved to Packwood, where he has lived ever since. Wife died June 15, 1909, and on Dec. 6, 1910, he married Addie M. BARRON who, with their little son Roy survives. Also leaves his father Richard CAVINESS of Pleasant Plain; three brothers, George and Clark at Seymour, Iowa, and Lloyd at Pleasant Plain; three sisters, Mrs. H. C. BANCROFT of Houston, Texas, Mrs. H. K. REED, Hibbing, Minn., and Mrs. Walter SCHAEFER, Fairfield. Mason.... Honored and respected citizen of Packwood, owning and operating one of the best hardware and automobile stores in Jefferson County...... Interment in the Packwood Cemetery. (His mother was Esther J. JAMES)
