Page 8, Column 1JOHN H. AVERY, 76, DIES AT PACKWOOD
John H. AVERY, 76 years old, died at 10:30 oclock today at his home in Packwood. Mr. AVERY came to Packwood from Illinois when he was quite young, and was married 51 years ago. His wife died eight years ago. Ten children, all living, were born of this union, Robert of Fullerton, Nebraska, Charles of Ottumwa, Mrs. Wesley CRANDALL, Mason City; Bert and Mrs. William WIGGINS, Packwood, Edward, Henry, Harve, Verna and Edward, Henry, Harve, Verna of Packwood and Harry. Burial will be ments have not yet been made. (sic)

Page 5, Column 6AVERY, John H. -- John H. AVERY, son of W. H. and Esther, born Morgan Co., Ill., May 23, 1847, married Jan. 30, 1873; ten children, seven sons and three daughters, all survive. Robert, Fullerton, Neb.; Charles, Ottumwa, Iowa; Mrs. Wesley CRANDALL, Mason City, Iowa; Bert AVERY and Mrs. Will WIGGINS of Fairfield; Ed, Henry Harve and Verna, all of Packwood. Harry has been away from home near two years and his whereabouts is not known. Mr. AVERY came to Iowa 56 years ago and settled in Jefferson County near Packwood. Died Mar. 5, 1924. Leaves ten children, one brother, Charles of Agency, and a sister Mrs. Wm. CALDWELL of Batavia. Packwood Cemetery.
