LENNOX, Esther T. -- Esther T. LENNOX, 82, of rural Douds, died at 2:07 a.m. Sunday, June 30, 2008 (sic - Sunday was the 29th), at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds, with the Rev. Phil Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa.

Open visitation begins at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

Memorials to the family may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 13641 Bethel Rock Ave., Douds 52551.

Mrs. LENNOX was born June 3, 1926, in Givin, Mahaska County, the daughter of Alva and Helena LARSON JORDAN. She married Cecil W. LENNOX April 3, 1948, in Oskaloosa. He died Aug. 15, 2006.

Mrs. LENNOX and her husband lived around Oskaloosa until moving to the Selma and Douds area in 1949. Mrs. LENNOX was a farm homemaker and worked as a nurse-aide and med-aide at Van Buren County Hospital and Center Village Care Center in Keosauqua and Cedar Creek Care Center in Fairfield.

Mrs. LENNOX was a member of Juanto Rebekah Lodge No. 250 of Selma and Home Circle Sewing Club of Douds. She attended Selma United Methodist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Sandra RUPE of Douds; two sons, Darryel LENNOX and wife Jolyn of Waterloo and Paul LENNOX of Yankton, S.D.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Russell JORDAN of Taylor Ridge, Ill., Richard JORDAN of California and Ronald JORDAN of Agency; and one sister, Irene MOORE of Arizona.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Gerald LENNOX; and one sister, Ethel MAJAVEC.
