THRASHER, Doris Fae -- Doris Fae THRASHER, 88, died Friday, Feb. 29, 2008, at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Ottumwa, with the Rev. Dennis Doud officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.

Open visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be made to Church of the Brethren and may be sent to the church at 1210 W. Williams St., Ottumwa, or may be left at the funeral chapel.

Mrs. THRASHER was born Dec. 14, 1919, in Batava, the daughter of Wayne and Elsie LITTLEFIELD PEEBLER. She married Anthony BOCCABELLA. She later married George THRASHER April 16, 1981.

Mrs. THRASHER moved to Riverdale, Md., in1955. She returned to Iowa in 1976.

Mrs. THRASHER had been associated with Church of the Brethren and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include one sister, Norma HICKS of O'Fallon, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, her twin Dorothy PEEBLER and Shirley LUTHER; and one brother, Gene PEEBLER.
