McPHERSON, Mary E. -- Mary E. McPHERSON, 100, of Fairfield, died Monday evening, Nov. 12, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
Arrangements are pending at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.

McPHERSON, Mary Eleanor -- Mary Eleanor McPHERSON, 100, of 3000 W. Madison Ave., died at 10:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield.
A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, with the Rev. Robert Koepcke officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Park Cemetery in West Des Moines.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield.
A memorial has been established to First Presbyterian Church.

Ms. McPHERSON was born June 7, 1907, on a farm north of Des Moines, the daughter of W.G. and Lilia BISHOP McPHERSON.
Ms. McPHERSON was raised and educated in Johnston. She attended Parsons College. She was a teacher at Johnston and Norwalk prior to moving to Fairfield, where she taught from 1940 until her retirement in 1972. She did graduate work at the University of Denver and University of Iowa.
As a youth, she was active in 4-H. Her 4-H demonstrations team placed first at the Iowa State Fair in 1923, earning the team a trip to the National 4-H Conference in Chicago. During her summer vacations as an adult, Ms. McPHERSON worked at the 4-H dormitory welcoming girls from across Iowa to the fairgrounds.
Ms. McPHERSON was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Chapter E TTT, Chapter HA PEO, Delta Kappa Gamma and Fairfield Women's Club.
Survivors include one great-niece, Mary Margaret "Meg" WAGNER of Coralville and two great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, W.K. and A.R. McPHERSON; and longtime companion Lillian THADA.
