POPEJOY, Randy William -- Randy William POPEJOY, 60, of Phoenix, Ariz., died from cancer Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Plain Friends Church in Pleasant Plain, with the Rev. Stan Bauer officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Memorial contributions to Banner Health Foundation and condolences may be sent to Jill POPEJOY, 4628 E. Buist Ave., Phoenix, AZ 85044.

Mr. POPEJOY grew up in Pleasant Plain and graduated from Fairfield High School in 1965.

He served in the Vietnam War.

During his career, Mr. POPEJOY owned a tire business in Ames and an appliance store in Corydon. He later had a sales career in siding, motorhomes and residential water systems. He and his wife moved to Phoenix, Ariz., in 1986.

He enjoyed Arizona Diamondbacks baseball, golf, racing, restoring old cars and being with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Jill; five daughters, Kelly, Kate, Donni ALLEY and husband Chad of Des Moines, Melanie of Phoenix and Dana DRAPER and husband Brad; his parents, Bill and Virginia POPEJOY of Pleasant Plain; and two sisters, Dixie INMAN of Chicago, Ill., and Peggy KERR of Polk City.
