LOUIS KIGER DIED AT GLASGOW TODAY

Louis KIGER, aged 56 years, died this morning about two o'clock at his home near Glasgow.

Mr. KIGER was born near Canton, Ohio, September 30th, 1867. He was the oldest son of Moses KIGER who now resides at Omaha, Neb. About thirty years ago Louis KIGER together with his parents moved to Iowa, locating in Jefferson county near GlasgowHe (sic) is one of the earliest settlers of that vicinity and has been prominent in Glasgow's village affairs. He was married to Miss Bertha McELWEE and they have resided just a half mile from Glasgow.

Some time ago he suffered a severe attack of typhoid fever. Before he had completely regained his strength from his illness he thought that he was able to make the half mile trip to town and so went to Glasgow several times to make some purchases. Upon his return from one of these trips he suffered a relapse of the fever and became seriously ill.

Last Wednesday morning he became worse and suffered a stroke of paralysis which affected one side and his speech so that he was unable to speak again. His death comes as a sad blow to his bereaved family who survive him. These are his wife, Mrs Louis KIGER and three sons, Glen, Harry and Guy, who all reside in the Glasgow neighborhood. He also leaves his aged father, Moses KIGER of Omaha, Neb., two brothers, Noble and Webster KIGER, and two sisters, Mrs. John LIMING, Matron of the County Home, and Mrs Emry CLINKENBEARD of Omaha, Nebraska.

The funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Methodist church in Glasgow. The services will be conducted by Rev. Johnathan Lee of Ottumwa.
