KIRKHART, Sharon E. -- Sharon E. KIRKHART, 58, of rural Cantril, died at 4:55 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2007, at her mother's home near Fort Madison.

A funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cantril Christian Church, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron and the Rev. Gerald Hoenig officiating. Burial, with military honors by American Legion Russell-Strait Post No. 483 of Milton, will be in Maple Grove Cemetery in Cantril.

Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, where family will be present from 6-8 p.m.

Memorials to Lee County Hospice or Maple Grove Cemetery may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 29879 Fir Ave., Cantril 52542.

Mrs. KIRKHART was born Aug. 5, 1948, in Fort Madison, the daughter of John J. and Alvina KRUMPLEMAN BUECHEL. She married Ronald W. KIRKHART Oct. 14, 1978, at St. Mary's Church in Fort Madison. He died June 1, 2006.

Mrs. KIRKHART graduated from Aquinas High School in Fort Madison in 1966. She served in the U.S. Army from 1969-1971 and worked at Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison for 40 years. She also assisted her husband on the farm.

Mrs. KIRKHART was Catholic. She belonged to the Van Buren County Farm Bureau.

She enjoyed traveling, cooking, sewing and spending time with family.

Survivors include two sons, Neil and Phillip KIRKHART, both of rural Cantril; her mother of Fort Madison; two sisters, Carol MENKE of Fort Madison and Joyce WILKERSON of West Columbia, S.C.; and two brothers, Robert and Larry BEUCHEL, both of Fort Madison.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father.
