Velma L. CAMPBELL

Velma L. CAMPBELL, 79, of Douds, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City (note: in Johnson Co., IA).

A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lebanon United Methodist Church in Lebanon, with the Rev. Len Garrison officiating.

Family visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Douds First Responders. Cards and memorials may be sent to 14722 Morrow St., Douds 52551.

Mrs. CAMPBELL was born Aug. 11, 1927, in Stockport, the daughter of Orla Irvin and Lena May TOMPKINS WATSON. She married Reid Dale CAMPBELL Feb. 19, 1945, in Iowa City.

Mrs. CAMPBELL was a 1945 graduate of Hillsboro High School. She was a teacher in the Hillsboro area.

Survivors include her husband; five children, Dale CAMPBELL and wife Rose of Port Byron, Ill., Darlene PHILIPS of North Liberty, Duane CAMPBELL and wife Mary of Bloomfield, Dorcie WORRELL and husband Dean of West Point, Ill., and Audrey MEYER and husband Dan of Swisher; seven grandchildren; one brother, Everett WATSON of Fairfield; and one sister, Crystal WESTERCAMP of New London.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Elvin and Verne; and one sister, Ruth WATSON.
