DIED – On the 2d of November, at the residence of his mother, four miles west of Pleasant Plain, George HIBBS. He confidently expressed his belief that he would pass into the rest prepared for the righteous. He had been lingering with consumption for some months, but his death was not expected so soon.

His father, Valentine HIBBS, was taken away about three months before, by an accident with a reaper. He was thrown from his seat and had his leg broken. It was amputated, and he died from the effects of it.
