Wed., Nov. 8, 2006, p. 8.Phyllis Loraine KEASLING, 70, of Hot Springs, S.D., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006, at home.
A funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at The United Churches in Hot Springs, with the Rev. Morris Nelson officiating. Interment will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at McColley’s Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Mrs. KEASLING was born Jan. 22, 1936, in Pierre, S.D., the daughter of Arthur James and Wilma Leona Hunsley JONES. She married Jerry GORTMAKER in July 1951; they were later divorced. She then married James CARSON in August 1959, and they later divorced. She was married to Chancey Denver KEASLING from May 1967 to May 1985.
Mrs. KEASLING lived and worked for many years in Hot Springs, where she ran the Snack Stand at the Evans Plunge, owned and operated the Kentuckian Café and worked in the kitchen at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. In June of 1967, she moved to Fairfield where she worked at Harrison’s Department Store, Gibson/Pamida and Fairfield Lumber Company. From January 1983 through January 1989, she owned and operated Phyl’s Tap in Libertyville. In September 1990, she returned to Hot Springs. While in Hot Springs, she was employed at Dick and Mary’s Super Value and the State Veterans Home.
Mrs. KEASLING was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary in Hot Springs, as well as a member of the Eagle’s Auxiliary in Fairfield. She volunteered at the VA Hospital, State Veterans Home, VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include three daughters, Audry Kay BONDURANT and husband Gary of Henderson, Nev., Vicki Jo BOLDING and husband Mike of Las Vegas and Connie Jean DAVIDSON of Sugar Land, Texas; two brothers, Jack JONES of Nebraska and Larry JONES of California; three sisters, Beverly JENNINGS of South Dakota, Helen RABER of Colorado and Ruby GOODEN of Montana; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Alice M. JONES, Pauline A. NASH and Marlene M. JONES; one son, Jerry Allen GORTMAKER; two grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Terry Alan MCCREEDY.
