John HOLLANDER died yesterday at his home two miles east of Salina.... bur. there.

John HOLLANDER was born at Groland, Pastorat Vester Gotland, Sweden, Feb. 17, 1848. Died at his home near Salina, Iowa, Sep. 6, age 78-3-17.

He came from Sweden in 1868 to Rockford, Ill., and lived there one year. From there he came to New Sweden, Iowa, in 1869 and lived in Wapello and Jefferson Counties for 57 years. He was a shoe maker from Sweden and followed that trade during the nine years he lived at Brookville and Eldon, Iowa, and then moved 48 years ago on the farm where he died. Married Ellen HILLMAN Sept. 13, 1872.

Six children: Elmer, Theron, Marie STALLMAN, Alvin, Florence HICKENBOTTOM and Ephriam. All reside near Salina and Fairfield, Iowa. Leaves wife, six children, 22 grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren and one brother.... Lutheran Church.
