George Washington BATES of Salina died Mar. 31, 1932, age 75-1-13, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Geo. L. REEDER near Lockridge.

He was born and reared near Salina. Married Margaret GIFT Jan. 31, 1878; she died Apr. 8, 1921.

Six children: Mrs. Maude RAY of Ft. Worth, Tex.; Harry BATES of Eldon, Iowa; Mrs. Bessie JOHNSON, Peoria, Ill.; Mrs. Cora HAWK and Russell BATES of Fairfield, Iowa; and Mrs. Etta REEDER of Lockridge; two sisters, Mrs. Anna HAWK of Bentonsport, Iowa; Mrs. Vesta STEVENS of Des Moines, Iowa; and three brothers, Jerry, Charlie and Dallas BATES; 19 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren..... Bur. Salina.
