Dr. Roy L. WALGREN, former Fairfield resident, died April 27 Freeport, Ill. He was a resident of Pearl City. Cousin of Mrs. Carl ANDERSON, RR2, Fairfield..... Dr. WALGREN was educated in the Fairfield schools and received his bachelor of science degree from Parsons College. He then taught school before serving with the medical corps in France during WW1..... Moved to Pearl City in April 1937. Dr. WALGREN was born in Chicago May 4, 1893, son of John and Anna WALGREN; he married Stella HOPPERSTEAD who died in 1944. He then married Gladys MANSON in May 1946. She survives along with three sons, four grandchildren and one sister. Services held in Pearl City Friday.
