JOHN TEETER DIED THIS MORNING

John TEETER passed away this morning at 11:30 at his home one mile south of the city, after an illness extending over eleven months. The funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon from the late residence in charge of Rev. W. B. Ireland of Wayland and the remains will be laid to rest in the Evergreen cemetery.

Mr. TEETER was the son of John and Mary TEETER and was born November 23, 1841, at MeConnellsburg, Penn. When fifteen years of age his parents moved to this county where he has since made his home. In 1869 he was united in marriage to Miss Mary H. VANCE, who survives him. To them were born three children, Dorwon TEETER of Benson, Minn., Mrs. Emmett MAHON, and Mrs. J. W. STEPHENSON of this city. He is also survived by six brothers: George of Birmingham, Frank of Stockport, Robert and Noah of Glendale, Japser of Pleasant Plain and Elliott of Battle Creek, Michigan.

Mr. TEETER served in the Civil war for four years in Co. M, 4th Iowa Cavalry. During his life he was a man who attracted many friends and his death will be mourned by a large circle of acquaintances.

Note: Buried in Lot SDof17-034. His obituary notes his birth year as 1841, however it's 1840 on his gravestone. Wife Mary outlived him several years, dying in 1948, and is buried with him. An obituary for him also appears in the Lockridge Herald on Friday, February 11, 1916.
