Ella Maria Larson

The Lord was pleased to call to His heavenly abode on Christmas Day 1945 Ella Maria Larson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Larson.

She was born Nov. 29, 1871 near Swedesburg, Ia., was baptized in the Christian faith and was confirmed in the Swedesburg Lutheran church where she was a faithful member until the time of her passing. She also served as organist for about 18 years.

Her entire life has been spent in the Swedesburg community where she was always ready and willing to do and sacrifice for others until March 5, 1942, when she suffered a paralytic stroke. Since that time she has been confined to her home most of the time. At the time of her passing she was 71 years and 26 days.

Those who wait to meet her yonder are Miss Mabel Larson at home, Mr. H.O. Larson and Mrs. C.H. Johnson of the Swedesburg community and Mr. Hero Larson of Mt. Pleasant, four nieces, two nephews and other relatives. The parents, one sister and three brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 28 at 2:15 at the Larson home in Swedesburg and 2:30 at the Swedesburg Lutheran church. Miss Illene Benson presided at the organ.

Miss Josephine Hultquist sang three solos. When peace like a river, My heart is yearning ever and Jesus Savior pilot me.

Pastor Benander spoke words of comfort. Text I Timothy.

Pallbearers were Fred Hultquist, Herman Andreson, Vincent Lindeen, Leslie Hultquist, Harris Morgan and Laverne Hult.

Interment took place in the Swedesburg cemetery.
