Wed., Apr. 20, 1892.DEATH OF MOTHER HEGG, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John CASTELL, near Salina, on Friday April 15 1892 at 10:30 A.M.....Born in Sweden Feb. 3, 1801, and came to Jefferson County, Iowa, July 4, 1851. She was married to Mr. SAMUELSON in Sweden in 1821. Her husband died in 1854, in Lockridge township, this county, and in 1856 she married Mr. Hegg. In 1861 he died, and since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. CASTELL, she being her only child. Mother HEGG united with the Methodist Church in the year 1856, and all of these years have been faithfully spent in the service of her Savior. Her life has been one worthy of example. For the last five years she has been blind, but not a word of complaint did she ever utter.....A large procession followed to the Swede Methodist Church and buying ground, where the funeral was preached by Rev. Anderson. The family.....have been opened to see the beauties of a brighter world than this, and behold the blessed Savior of the word. J.D.B.
