Daniel NELSON was born in Linkoping, Sweden, July 31, 1822, and died at Salina Oct. 14, 1905. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. M. Persenius, assisted by Rev. A. E. Johnson of Salina, in the Swedish Lutheran Church near Four Corners, of which deceased had been a member, and the body was interred there. Mr. NELSON was married to Johanna SWENSON in 1845 and came to America in 1857. He lived in Chicago three years. He went to Missouri where he lived until 1866 when he came to Jefferson County, living on the same farm in Lockridge township until he retired from active life, in 1898, when he and his wife moved into Salina, where the latter passed away in 1902.
Of a family of nine children, three died in infancy, and five, three sons and two daughters, were at the bedside of their father.... A son residing in Oregon was unable to be present. Mr. NELSON was highly respected....
