OSCAR FREDERICK LILLYBLADE.
Oscar Frederick LILLYBLADE, who died at Fairfield, Iowa, February 8, was born in Lindkoping, Sweden, November 28, 1845. He came to America in his early youth, and was married to Emma SWANSON, August 6, 1873. To this union were born nine children, two daughters of which have preceded him in death namely Mrs. Selfa KING who died in March, 1924, and Mrs. Rosa YOUNG, who died in October, 1929. Those who survive the departed are: Mrs. Anna GRAF, Fred and Clarence LILLYBLADE of Lockridge, Iowa, Mrs. Eva BLACK of Fairfield, Iowa, Mrs. Victoria VAN WINKLE and Mrs. Lizzie DILLEY of Brighton, Iowa and Theodore LILLYBLADE of Burlington, Iowa. There are also thirty-one grandchildren, three of which are deceased and twenty-five great grandchildren, and a large number of other relatives, friends and neighbors. The departed had attained the age of 84 years, 2 months and 10 days.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, New Sweden, Iowa, February 10 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Anton Linder preached the funeral sermon, using Rom. 6:23 as text. Rudolph Edmund and Miss Elizabeth Edmund sang, "Nearer My God To Thee" and "Safe in The Arms of Jesus".
A large number of people attended the services. Committal services took place in the New Sweden Lutheran cemetery.
