GUS AIN CALLED BY DEATH TODAY
Funeral Services To Be Sunday Afternoon At 2 from Lutheran Church

Gus AIN, who has been in very poor health for several years and seriously ill for the past week, passed away this forenoon at 11:50 oclock at his home, 402 South Third street. The last services will be held Sunday afternoon. Short services will be held at 1:30 oclock at the home for the family and the funeral party will go to the English Lutheran church were the services for the friends and relatives will be held at 2 oclock. Rev. George G. Parker will officiate.

Mr. AIN was born in Sweden February 5, 1855. He is survived by his wife who was formerly Miss Mary CARLSON and the following children: Mrs. Mable RODGERS, Raymond AIN, Harley AIN and Russell AIN, all of Fairfield. One sister, Mrs. Frank ERICKSON survives. A sister, Mrs. Carrie ARDEN of Burlington has preceded Mr. AIN in death.

The last rites for Gus AIN, who passed away yesterday forenoon at his home, 402 South Third street, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 oclock from the English Lutheran church in charge of the pastor Rev. George G. Parker. Interment will take place in Evergreen cemetery.

AIN FUNERAL HELD YESTERDAY
Conducted by Rev. Parker; Interment in Evergreen Cemetery

Funeral services for the late Gus AIN were held yesterday afternoon at 2 oclock from the English Lutheran church in charge of Rev. George G. Parker, pastor of the church. The following men served as pall bearers, John Samuelson, J. T. Rodgers, Anton Carlson, Charles Ecklund, G. P. Judson and Frank W. Moyer. A quartet composed of Mesdames William Neibert, Glen Bates, Ray Mulkins and John E. Messer sang ::Nearer My God To Thee," "Does Jesus Care" and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus." James Gilmer accompanied on the piano. Interment was made at the Evergreen cemetery.

OBITUARY

J. AUGUST AIN

Jonas August AIN was born in Kroxhold, Sweden, February 5, 1855 and departed from this life Friday, October 16, 1925 at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 11 days.

He came to this country with his parents in the year 1867 and the remainder of his life was spent in Jefferson county, Iowa.

He united with the Lutheran church at New Sweden by the rite of confirmation at the age of fourteen year. (sic) Later he had his membership transferred to the Lutheran church of Fairfield which affiliation he retained to the day of his death.

He was united in marriage to Mary Louise CARLSON, May 19, 1886. To this union four children were born, Maybelle AIN ROGERS (sic - RODGERS), Raymond, Harley and Russel all living in or near Fairfield.

Mr. AIN lived a devoted christian life. He was a kind, loving husband and father, being always considerate of others. He was patient in suffering and joyously walked through the valley of the shadow of death with his Lord and Saviour.

Besides his wife and children he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his departure.
