Funeral Services To Be At Hoskins Funeral Home, Thursday, 1:30Mrs. Frances N. (sic - Frances Ann) ALLENDER, 84, passed away Tuesday, at 4:00 p.m., at her home three miles northeast of Birmingham. She had been in ill health for the past several months, and had been seriously ill for a week.
Services will be held Thursday, at 1:30 p.m., at the Hoskins Funeral Home. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
Mrs. ALLENDER was born July 18, 1852, in Iowa, and has been a resident of Birmingham and vicinity for the past 33 years. Her husband, preceded her in death January 16, 1922. One brother, C. C. COCHRAN, died Nov. 28, 1931.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary at home, and Mrs. Nellie CAMPBELL of Mount Pleasant, and one son, Vern, at home. Surviving her also are two grandchildren, Mrs. Mary Frances ANDERSON of Stockport, and James CAMPBELL of Lowell, and two great grandchildren, Wendell ANDERSON and John Richard CAMPBELL. One brother, U. S. COCHRAN, and one sister, Mrs. Willa CHANDLER, both of Fairfield, also survive.

FRANCES A. ALLENDER
Frances Ann COCHRAN daughter of George COCHRAN and Elizabeth Ann (sic - Elizabeth Jane?) LYNCH was born July 18, 1852, at Glasgow, Ia., and passed away at her home three miles east of Birmingham, Dec. 15, 1936 at 4 p.m., aged 84 years, 5 months and two days (sic - 84 years, 4 months, 27 days per her Death Certificate).
She was united in marriage to James H. ALLENDER of Fairfield, Feb. 6, 1879. Mr. ALLENDER preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1922. To this union were born five children: Mae Elizabeth and Vernon H. at home, and Mrs. Nellie CAMPBELL of Mt. Pleasant and two who died in infancy.
Along with the three children who mourn the loss of a devoted mother are two grandchildren, James Allender CAMPBELL of Lowell and Mrs. Milo ANDERSON of Stockport and two great grandchildren: John Richard CAMPBELL and James Wendell ANDERSON.
One sister Mrs. Willah CHANDLER and one brother U. S. COCHRAN both of Fairfield, besides a large number of nieces and nephews.
She was a faithful member of the Methodist church and a charter member of East Union Ladies Aid. Mr. and Mrs. ALLENDER were residents of Jefferson county for several years, moving to Van Buren in the spring of 1903. In spite of her advanced age Mrs. ALLENDER kept up with current events and enjoyed visiting with her friends who were numbered by the scores.
The funeral service was held at the Hoskins Parlors in Fairfield conducted by Rev. H. C. Druse, her pastor at Birmingham. Interment in Evergreen cemetery beside her husband.
Two songs were feelingly rendered by George Smith and Mrs. Florence Heiden old friends of the family.
