Mrs. Mary THOMPSON, wife of Col. James THOMPSON, died at her home in this city Mon. night at 10 o'clock. Maiden name was Mary KOOKEN, born in Carlisle, Penn., in 1778 (1798)..... In 1816 she removed to Harrison Co., Ohio, and at New Rumley, in Sept., 1823, was married to James THOMPSON. The family removed to Carrollton, that state, some time later, and made that place their home for many years. In 1845 they removed to Indiana, and came to this county in 1849, and resided here ever since.
Three daughters and five sons, Mrs. Geo. D. TEMPLE and Mrs. John R. SHAFFER, now living in this city, and two sons, one in Van Buren County and one in Montana, survive.... M.E. Ch.. Remains will be interred in this city.
