DEATH OF ROBERT WEST ALEXANDER at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Willis MATTHEWS, Tuesday morning about seven o'clock... Mr. ALEXANDER was down town Monday morning. Son of Hugh and Ann ALEXANDER, and was born in Bedford County, Penn., Sept. 12, 1822.

There were six children in the family. In 1849, Mrs. ALEXANDER and family removed to Fairfield, Mr. ALEXANDER having died in Pennsylvania. It was in this city that West, as he was commonly called, was married to Miss Elizabeth BARNES. Two children were born to them, one dying in infancy, the other, Mrs. Allie MATTHEWS, still residing here. Mr. ALEXANDER was by trade a chair maker, painter, and paper hanger. His wife died about ten years ago. Methodist Church from early life.

Two sisters and two brothers survive him. They are Misses Susan and Maria, and Clarke and W.K. ALEXANDER, all of this city....
