Franklin SWAYNE died of Consumption in the City of Fairfield April 13, 1870. Born in Fulton County, Ill., July 3d, 1849.... Old Zion M.E. Church in this city..... His end was peaceful and serene.

"So fades a sinner's cloud away
So sinks the gale when storms are o'er,
So gently shuts the eye of day
So dies a wave along the shore."
