Died After Brief Illness.

William E. DOWD died at his home on South D street Monday evening, after an illness of three or four days. He was a native of Athens county, O., seventy years of age, and had lived in Fairfield for several years. He was married here December 12th, 1905, to Rebecca HOWARD, and his death makes Mrs. DOWD a widow for the fifth time. Mr. DOWD has several children by a former marriage. Funeral services will be held at the Christian church today at 2:30.

William E. DOUD died at his home in the southeast part of town Monday night. He was an old soldier. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C.H. Littleton.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.020. William was the last of Rebecca WRIGHT's five husbands; she is buried in neighboring Old Fairfield City Cemetery. William served in the Civil War with Co. E, 10th IL Infantry.
