"Fairfield Daily Journal", Mon., Dec. 20, 1909, Pg. 2, Col. 2

SUDDEN DEATH OF H. B. BARROW. Henry B. BARROW, one of the few remaining old settlers of Fairfield, died suddenly last evening at his home on West Jackson Street. He had been in ill health for some days but was able to be up and about his home...

He was an Englishman by birth... came to the United States when he was a lad. Half a century ago he came to Jefferson County to make his home. He fought through the war with the Third Iowa Cavalry. He was married to Miss Jemima GOVER of this city. The couple had no children of their own and took a little girl into their home and raised her as their daughter and she is known as Dollie BARROW. She with the aged wife survives Mr. BARROW... He was a member of George Strong Post No. 19 of this city (G.A.R) and this body will probably have charge of the funeral....
