Mrs. Elizabeth MILLS died at the home of her daughter, Sarah MILLS, in Liberty township, Jefferson County, Iowa, July 3, 1904, aged 85 years and 13 days. Her maiden name was PARKER.
She was born near Pittsburg, Pa., June 20, 1819, and moved with her parents to Locust Grove township, Jefferson County, Iowa, in 1836. She was married to Ralph R. MILLS, of Fairfield, Iowa, June 5, 1845, and to this union ten children were born, six of whom survive her, three died in childhood, and one son at the age of 20 years. Her husband died in 1873. She was a member of the M.E. Church, having united with that church in early life and was a faithful and earnest Christian. As wife, mother and friend, she was always true and affectionate. The funeral took place from the home on Tuesday, July 5, 1904. Rev. G. W. Barber conducted the service. Her remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the Fairfield Cemetery.
