DEATH OF WILLIAM PARR. William PARR, a resident of Fairfield about twenty-five years ago, died in Burlington Thursday night. He had been in ill health for a number of years from disease contracted in the army. Mr. PARR was a member of Company F, Third Iowa Cavalry, enlisting in this city August 26th, 1861, and serving throughout the war. Shortly after his discharge from the service he removed to Burlington, where the family has since resided. Mrs. PARR died in that city about a year ago.
Five children survive the parents, all of whom have reached years of maturity. Many old friends and comrades in this city will learn with deep regret of the death of this excellent man.
