DEATH OF MARQUIS SHRINER. It is sad to record the death of an old citizen, but such is our duty this week. Marquis SHRINER died in this city February 23d, 1882, after a lingering illness - dropsy of the heart...
Mr. SHRINER was born November, 1808, in Shippensburg, Cumberland County, Pa., and was consequently in the 74th year of his age. In 1839 he ws married to Miss Jane COFFER, and to them were born ten children, eight of whom are living. He removed to Fairfield September 1, 1848, with his brother, George, and has resided here since that date. In his loss his wife loses a loving husband, the children a kind and indulgent father, and the community a good citizen. His loss is deeply felt by the old settlers with whom he was always identified, and with whom he shared the joys and hardships of early western life. Peace be to his ashes.
