(From the South Haven, MI, "Tribune", Apr. 15)

SURVIVED BY FOUR GENERATIONS. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth ROWLAND died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J.V.D. LINDEN, on Church Street. She was nearly 88 years of age...

Mary E. EHLER was born Oct. 14, 1824, at Allentown, Penn., of which place her father's ancestors were among the earliest settlers from Germany. As a small child she moved with her parents and six brothers, by the prairie schooner and steamboat route to St. Louis. At the age of 16 she was married to Ellis WAINWRIGHT, the eldest of two brothers from Pittsburg, who became the founders of the WAINWRIGHT family now so prominent in the Missouri metropolis. Four children, of whom one survives: Mrs. Kate A. WEBB, Chicago.

Several years after the death of Mr. WAINWRIGHT, she married Richard ROWLAND of England, who died a number of years ago. From St. Louis she removed to Fairfield, Iowa, where she resided until about ten years ago, when she came to live in this city with Mrs. LINDEN, the only child of her second marriage. Leaves two children, three grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren, and one greatgreatgrandchild. Burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery, St. Louis.
