Death of Mrs. GRIMES.

Many friends in this city will be pained to learn of the death of Sarah Elizabeth MORRISON, wife of John A. GRIMES, which occurred at her home yesterday morning. Mrs. GRIMES was born in Huntingdon county, Penn., April 18th, 1843, and was a daughter of Abram and Arabella MORRISON. She was married April 5th, 1863, in this city, and it has since been her home continuously. She was the mother of four children, three of whom are now living, W. A. GRIMES of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. S. E. KELLOGG of Sioux City, and Mrs. Bertha INGALLS. Two sisters and all the children were with Mrs. GRIMES in her last moments. Mrs. GRIMES had been a member of the Lutheran church for thirty-five years, was a devoted christian, a loving wife and an affectionate mother. She had many friends in the community who will mourn her death and sorrow with the stricken husband and family. Funeral services will be held at the home on West Burlington street tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. J. Funkey, and the remains will be interred in the Evergreen cemetery.

Death of Mrs. John A. GRIMES.

Mrs. Sarah E. GRIMES died at her home in this city Monday morning at three o'clock. She was fifty-five years, eight months, and eleven days old.

Mrs. GRIMES was the daughter of Abram and Arabella MORRISON, and was born in Huntington county, Pennsylvania, on April 18, 1843. She was married in this city on the fifth of August, 1863, to John A. GRIMES and has ever since resided here. Four children were born of this union, three of whom are living and were present during her last illness. They are Mr. Wm. A. GRIMES, of Springfield, Mo., Mrs. S. E. KELLOGG, of Souix City (sic), Ia., and Mrs. Bertha INGALLS, of this city. Mrs. GRIMES' two sisters, Mrs. Maggie KREBBS, of Toledo. Ohio, and Mrs. Hannah BALL, of Jamestown, South Dakota, were also here.

Mrs. GRIMES has been an invalid for a number of years, but she bore all her suffering with christian fortitude. In her youth she was a member of the Methodist church but on coming to this city united with the Lutheran church and has since remained a member of that denomination.

The funeral wil take place from the residence Thursday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Wm. J. Funkey will conduct the services.

Note: Buried in Lot Old.P.204. Husband John subsequently remarried, to Mary Olive YARNELL WILLIS, died in 1923, and was buried with Sarah. When Mary died in 1939, she was also buried on the same lot, and all three share a common monument.
