MRS. H. DOWNS DIED SUDDENLY
At Lew Van, Sask., Can., Where She Was Spending Summer With Her Sons

Mrs. Henry V. DOWNS, who has been spending the summer visiting her sons Charles, Joseph and Harry at Lew Van, Sask., Can., passed away there suddenly last night, according to a message received here today.

The body will be brought here for burial. No funeral arrangements have been made yet.

Mrs. Clarence SPRATT and Mrs. G. Walter BEAN of this city are daughters.

MRS. H. DOWNS RITES MONDAY
Body Will Arrive Tomorrow Morning at 10:10 From Lew Van, Canada

Funeral services for Mrs. Henry V. DOWNS, who died Wednesday night while visiting her sons at Lew Vam (sic), Sask., Canada, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter BEAN, 605 South Second street.

The body will arrive in this city tomorow morning over the Rock Island at 10:10.

MRS. H. V. DOWNS RITES YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT 2

Many relatives and friends paid their last respects to the memory of Mrs. Henry V. DOWNS yesterday at the funeral services held at 2 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Walter BEAN, 605 South Second street.

Dr. Gilbert Voorhies of the Presbyterian church officiated. Many beautiful floral offerings were grouped around the casket and in the rooms. The casket attendants were: L. E. Whitney, Harlan Gossick, James Turner, T. F. Mellow, Walter A. Louden and Clarence Hall. Mrs. L. W. Van Nostrand and Miss Cora Ball sang the songs, being accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Gilbert Voorhies.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph DOWNS, Charles DOWNS and Harry DOWNS of Lew Van, Sask., Canada; Mrs. Elmer Ross of Memphis, Mo., Mrs. Wayne Giles, Mrs. Helen Bailey, Arvin McWilliams and Miss Lela CRAWFORD of Downing, Mo; Mrs. F. E. BEAN, Mr. and Mrs. Norman BEAN, Mr. and Mrs. James BEAN and Mr. and Mrs. Tom McGraw of Ainsworth; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence L. HALL of Eldon; Mr. and Mrs. Glen McFarland of Washington, Mr. and Mrs. John CRAWFORD, Roy CRAWFORD and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Webber of Stockport.

OBITUARY

MRS. H. V. DOWNS

Elizabeth CRAWFORD DOWNS was born August 26th, 1856, at Fairfield, Iowa, and passed away while visiting her three sons in Canada, on October 10, 1929, at the age of 73 years, 1 month and 14 days.

She was united in marriage with Henry V. DOWNS of Northwood, Ohio, on May 16, 1877, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1919, as also one little daughter, Margaret, who died Feb. 1, 1899, at the age of three years old.

She leaves to mourn her passing five children, Charles and Joe of Lew Van, and Harry of Grand, Coluee, Canada, Mrs. Clarence SPRATT and Mrs. Walter G. BEAN, with whom she made her home, of Fairfield, sixteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Presbyterian chruch and always interested in its activities. All who came in contact with her realized her sterling character. She spent her time doing things for her loved ones and will be greatly missed by her relatives and many friends.
