Christopher J. LOVING died at his home in Round Prairie township, Wednesday night.... 76 years old. He came to this county forty years ago. He was buried this afternoon.

ANOTHER OLD SETTLER GONE.

It is our duty to record the death of another old settler of Jefferson County...... Christopher J. LOVING (familiarly called "Kit") died at his residence in Round Prairie township Thursday, Sept. 4 of internal abscess. Mr. LOVING was about 70 years of age, and had resided in Henry and Jefferson counties for over 40 years. In the spring of 1845 he owned and controlled the ferry across Skunk river at Rome, and owned the only house in the place at that time. For several years prior to 1845 he had lived in Henry County. Mr. LOVING was a good citizen and a man of exemplary habits. He leaves a wife and several children.

Note: His first wife was Rebecca BELL, who died in 1875 (although her gravestone says 1865). When he married Elisa, he was 65 and she 24. He is buried in Fiedler Cemetery with his first wife.

CHRISTOPHER J. LOVING died September 3 1884; see Fiedler Cem., Vol. 3; leaving two children of this marriage: Lacy Loving, a son, age 6, and Sylvia Loving, age 7 days.

Sylvia married, April 2 1902, Anthony Joseph (Tony) Keller who died August 4 1959; Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
