Capt. Charles Ansyl CLARKE, former Fairfield resident and a brother of Dr. J. Fred CLARKE, died of brain hemorrhage March 21 at San Diego, Calif.. Buried beside his wife (Ella ACHESON) in the Naval Yard at Vallejo, Calif.. Born in Henry County and entered the navy in 1863, serving through the Civil War. He participated in the naval activities of the Spanish-American War, the naval movements in Korea, the opening of Japan to the world, and in the World War. He recently received from Congress a medal for service in the navy. Mrs. J. W. SAMPSON of Pomona, Calif., is a sister.....
