Mrs. Missouri Amanda PERRY died at her home in the southwestern part of the city on last Sunday evening after a lingering illness.
The maiden name of deceased was GRUBB, and she was born in Beechburg, Champaign county, Ohio, February 27, 1827. On the 19th of October, 1843, she was married to John FULTON, and to them were born five children, all of whom are living but one, who died in infancy. The others are Benjamin F., Rachel Bell, and Mrs. Dora CONKLIN, all of Keota, Iowa, and Mrs. Annie STOOPS, of Perry, Iowa. In 1849 they moved to Fairfield, and on the 20th of April, 1857, her husband, John FULTON, died. On the 20th of May, 1861, Mrs. FULTON was married to Jacob PERRY. To them were born four children, all but one of whom are living, one dying in infancy. The children of this marriage are Mrs. Jennie MYERS, of Atwood, Kansas; Miss Nannie PERRY and Mrs. Abbie LOCKE, of this city. Her second husband died May 7, 1874.
Mrs. PERRY united with the Methodist church when nine years old and remained a faithfull christian all her life. Her sickness lasted over a period of five years, and she was almost entirely helpless for a year and a half. She was confined to her bed since the first of the year. She had the most careful and tender nursing of her two devoted daughters at home and the sympathy of the public goes out to them in their sad affliction.
The funeral took place at the Methodist church Monday afternoon.
