DEATH OF A. R. SPARKS. Our Washington correspondent announces the death of Dr. A. R. SPARKS. All of the old citizens of this place remember him. The writer hereof has special reason to remember Mr. SPARKS, for with him he served his apprenticeship.

In 1847 Mr. S. came to Fairfield and established the "Iowa Sentinel", a Democratic paper, which he conducted vigorously and to the satisfaction of the party, and more to its benefit than his own. In 1850 he sold the paper, and removed from the county. He studied medicine afterwards, and practiced his profession in Tennessee. He went to Washington and has held a clerkship in one of the departments all, or nearly all, of the time since his residence there. Mr. SPARKS was a pleasant gentleman in all his intercourse with his fellow man, and the regard for him in Fairfield was deep and lasting. He leaves a wife in Washington City, who has the sympathy of many friends here in her bereavement.
