Mrs. James P. WRAY is Dead.

Rachel Jane FEE, wife of James P. WRAY, died in this city Thursday. She had been in failing health for some time and her death was not unexpected. Mrs. WRAY was a daughter of the late George FEE, and was born in Huntingdon county, Penn., April 6th, 1823. Her earlier life was spent in that county, and she was married there Dec. 17th, 1840. Ten years later, in October, 1850, the family removed to this county. Mr. and Mrs. WRAY lived for many years on a farm north of town, but for several years had resided in this city. Twelve children were born to them, seven of whom are living at this time -- Mrs. Robert McCONKEY and Mrs. Ella (Mrs. J.R.) GIBBON in Ottumwa; Mrs. Thos. R. BLACK in Salt Lake City, Utah; William F. WRAY in Memphis, Mo.; Mrs. Fannie TROXELL, J.A. and George H. WRAY in this city. There are also thirty-one grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. In a half century's life in this county Mrs. WRAY has won not only a wide acquaintance but many friends. In country and city she was loved for her womanly qualities and held in the highest esteem by all who came in contact with her. Funeral services were held at the family residence Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. F. Magill.

Note: Buried in Old Fairfield City Cemetery, Lot 54, East half. Husband James Porter WRAY died in 1905 and is buried with her.
