Death of Mrs. J. E. MYERS.

Mrs. Isabel MYERS, wife of J. E. MYERS died at her home near the fair ground in this city, last Thursday morning about 8 o'clock. Her sickness dated from the middle of last March, and was caused from a cancer on her head and neck. Mrs. MYERS had a birthmark on her head and accidentally struck it on an abstruction (sic), which caused the cancer. Her sufferings were intense, and although unconscious for a week before her death, she became conscious on the last day and conversed with members of the family.

Isabel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter GOW, was born in Jefferson county Apr. 15, 1847, and has been a life resident of the county. She was married to J. E. MYERS in January, 1869, and for a number of years lived on a farm about four miles north of town.

Ten children blessed this union, seven of whom are living. The family moved to this city aobut five yeare (sic) ago, and have since made this their home. Mrs. MYERS was an excellent woman and highly esteemed by all her friends.

The funeral took place from the home last Friday afternoon at two o'clock, the service being conducted by Rev. Dr. J. F. Magill.

Mrs. Orville THOMAS, of Summer, Neb., a daughter of the deceased, was with her mother, as were the rest of the children, during the last week of her illness.
