Hester SNOOK, daughter of Jacob and Sarah SNOOK, was born in Johnson County, Penn., in Nov., 1828, departed this life May 9, 1926.

She came with her parents to Jefferson County, Iowa, when 15 years of age. They located on a farm near Fairfield, Iowa, which at that time was only a small village of eight families. She married William JAMES Feb. 14, 1856. Thirteen children.

She is survived by Theodore of Centralia, Wash.; Jennie of Witten, S.D.; Will of Batavia; George of Selma; Bell of Lincoln, Nebr.; Ed of LaPlata, Mo.; Sadie of Beckwith; Weldy of Newton; Rola of Des Moines; and Arvel. Three preceded her in death, Fred, Peter and Addie STEEL. Also survived by 39 grandchildren, 27 greatgrandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Catherine RICHARDSON of Fairfield, Iowa....

The body was laid to rest by the side of her husband who preceded her in death 30 years ago. Brethren Cemetery. She had lived on the same farm for 72 years.
