Death of John LYNN.

The death of Mr. John LYNN, one of our old and highly respected citizens, occurred at the home of his daughter, Mrs. ANGSTEAD, in this city last Tuesday morning about six o'clock. Mr. LYNN had been in fairly good health until about three weeks ago, when he was first attacked with slow paralysis, and his left side became useless a week ago last Friday.

John LYNN was born in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania, October 5, 1812. He grew to manhood at that place and in 1833 he married Miss Elizabeth SISSLER. Nine years later Mr. and Mrs. LYNN removed to Jefferson county, Iowa, where they both ended their days. On coming here they located at Richwoods in the northeastern part of the county. Mrs. LYNN died in September, 1889. Six children, three boys and three girls, all married, are left to mourn the death of a kind and loving father. They are Mrs. Hiram ANGSTEAD, of this city, with whom Mr. LYNN had made his home for some time, Mrs. Wm. KYLE, Mrs. Albert McMURRAY and Robert D. and Jasper LYNN, of Richwoods, and David, of Portland, Oregon. Mr. LYNN was a man of most excellent character and habits, always lending a hand where it would do the most good and was spoken of by all who knew him in the highest terms. He was a true Christian man, and a member of the Congregational church of this city.

The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. A. F. Marsh, at the home of Hiram ANGSTEAD, this morning at eleven o'clock. The remains were then taken to Richwoods, his old home, for interment. Deceased was in his eighty-third year.
