M. S. CRAWFORD DEAD IN DENVER. Former Resident of Fairfield, 86 years old. Marshall S. CRAWFORD... Lieut. CRAWFORD, Co. L (F), Third Iowa Cavalry, died at his home, 2926 Race Street, Denver; widely known in Denver; entered the Civil War at its inception, and saw action in the storming of Little Rock, as provost guard over the city, after the assault proved successful. Also saw service in Missouri, where some of the most severe fighting of the war took place in the guerilla campaigns. Upon the return of Gen. Ulysses S. GRANT from a world voyage in 187_, Lieut. CRAWFORD was one of the escorts who met the Civil War leader and welcomed him back to the United States.
