Alfred WHISTLER died at his home in Brighton, Iowa, Dec 11 1921; born Mar. 13 1841 near Mansfield, Ohio, moved to a farm near Brighton in 1855 and married Miss Eliza KNERR in Sept 1865. Three brothers survive: Hiram of Tingley, Iowa; Cyrus of Steward, Iowa; and Abraham residing in Kansas; also one sister, Mrs. Harriette DROM of Pleasant Plain. To Mr and Mrs Whistler ten children, of whom eight are living, Bert and Thomas having preceded their father several year ago. Those remaining are: Amos of Cedar Rapids; Ella, wife of J. W. BRIER, Brighton; Charlie of Brighton; George of Kansas City; Mrs Etta SWISHER of Brighton; James of Bloomfield, Iowa; Sabra EDWARDS of Brighton, and B.W, “Doc” of Albuquerque, N. M.....Bur. Hillcrest Cemetery.
