LIBERTYVILLE, Feb. 13. Elihu Witter WARNER was born in Lake County, Ohio, July 2, 1828, and died at his home near Libertyville Feb. 6, 1905, at 10 o'clock p.m.. At the time of his birth, Lake County was a part of what was known as the Western Reserve and was a wilderness of magnificent hardwood forest. His father, Oliver William WARNER, settled upon a tract of this land... Elihu W. oldest of a large family. Here among the chestnut and sugar trees young Elihu grew to manhood.... At the age of 24 years he was married to Mary Jane MOSELY (sic - MOSLEY). This was in the spring and they went at once to Hannibal, Mo., where an uncle, Alfred WARNER, owned a large plantation....

They soon returned to the old home where they settled upon a farm near the parental homestead. They lived here for six years, which time Lloyd Elihu was born. They had accumulated some means and decided to go west again, and this time they came to Iowa and settled on the present homestead in 1858. M.E. Church... Son Oliver lives in Kansas. Elmina, their second child, age 5, died Oct., 1865.

Leaves wife and six children, three sons and three daughters.... Fell Cemetery.
